Itinerary:

DAY 1: THESSALONIKI - PARANESTI
Departure from Thessaloniki to the river cave of Aggitis, one of the largest in the world and afterwards we head for Paranesti, next to the great Rhodope mountains. Later on during a welcome dinner in a local tavern we meet the rest of the members of the group and discuss with our guide the programs details. Overnight in Paranesti guesthouse.
DAY 2: PARANESTI - RHODOPE TREK
Early in the morning we depart to explore the area of Dipotama and the waterfalls of Dipotama, Lepida, Santa Barbara and Traxoni that can be reached after a few minutes hike. Late at noon during our way back we visit the Sotiros abbey and enjoy the magnificent view of the valley. Start our trek and continue through vast forests into the bear country. Overnight in tents.
DAY 3: RHODOPE TREK
We trek through beautiful forests and we cross uninhabited areas of the back country. On the trail, we stop for lunch and we pass by numerous waterfalls. Visit of the great Livaditis waterfall, one of the biggest in the country. Overnight in tents.
DAY 3: RHODOPE TREK - THESSALONIKI
We head towards Xanthi. Visit of the old town and farewell lunch in a local traditional restaurant. Return to Thessaloniki in the evening.
