Kanenas Wine; Maroneia vineyard

This family owned vineyard is located in the Maroneia region of Thrace.
The 'divine wine' drunk by the Cyclopes and made drunk, according to local myth came from Maroneia.
The wine "Kanenas" means in Greek "nobody" - and this was the false name that Odysseus gave to the Cyclopes in ordeer to hide his identity.
You can buy at the winery three different wines:
- Kanenas White: this is a muscat of Alexandria-Chardonnay. It has a fresh and fruity taste with a sensuous smell. Soft and creamy on the palate, with an enchanting character reminiscent of wild roses and a harmonious acidity-fruit interplay.
- Kanenas Rose - this is a mavroudi-syrah wine, with a fragrant bouquet of fresh roses petals, confectionery, strawberry and black pepper sensuality. It has an intensely flavored palate with lovely richness and a harmonious cream.
- Kanenas Red - this is another mavroudi-syrah wine. Deeply coloured with a bouquet full of wilk berries and ripe dark cherries that are supported by spicy notes. Upon tasting it delivers the same intensity and complexity; chewy and textured tannin old it well for maturation.
