Village of Tichero

The village of Tichero is ideally situated for the visitor to experience the surrounding landscape and scenery and the diverse cultural heritage of the region. You visit the fascinating monuments in nearby Feres, specifically the Byzantine Monastery of Panagia Cosmosotira and the silk museums of Soufli. You can also visit the amazing scenery of Evros Delta, Dadia Forest and the Fossil forest in Dadia.
In Tichero village you can enjoy the Youth festival that takes place in the summer. Activities at the festival include canoe-kayaking, lake sailing, water sports on the lake; archery, motocross, volleyball, football, cycling and and horse riding and opportunities to savior local foods and drink and to buy local arts made by craftsmen and women.
An open air theatre is the venue of concerts.
It is also worth visiting the Youth cooperative of the municipality which make organic wine, exclusive melon liquers and cultivates and sells herbs.
The women's cooperative of Lefkimi makes loukoumi (Turkish delights) and sweet jams and other preservatives.

The village of Tichero is affiliated to the Agrinet NGO which promote agro-tourism, sustainable development and ecology.
