Greece – visit the Gods!

Greek is an Indo-European language, like Slavonic, Iranian, Latin and all the other languages related to Sanskrit. It is not known for certain when the first Greek was spoken. However, it was first written down by the Minoans as Linear B. Linear A, has not yet been deciphered. However, it was through the oral tradition represented by Homer that Greek literature began.  The Greek spoken today is based on Classical Greek of Plato and the playwrights, Sophocles, Aristophanes, Menander, Euripides and Aeschylus. You can see their plays performed at the ancient theatres during the Festival of Phillippi and Thasos. The love for theatre continues in Greece, and the country since the 1980s has established a thriving regional theatre movement. Every town has its theatre where new shows are performed.
