Evros is a region well known among Greeks for its natural beauty. This hidden corner of the country is endowed with towering mountains, nature reserves like Dadia natural park and the Evros Delta, which are both famous for their bird life. The region also has many sites and monuments worth visiting: the archaeological sites of Mesemvria and Maroneia to name just two and picturesque towns like Soufli, Didymoteicho, Alexandroupolis, Feres and Orestiada.
