THE ROAD THAT LEADS TO THE ORPHANAGE also leads to today’s local hospital and from there to the hill of “Korilovos”, which locals use for their outdoor athletic activities. The Nature-Lovers’ Club of Drama has its premises at the top of the hill, where there is also a restaurant with a panoramic view. A study based on excavations made in recent years seems to indicate that there must also have been a church and a monastery at the top of this hill during the Byzantine Period.
